If you’re brewing coffee with an Outin machine, grinding with the Fino grinder, and using Outin’s brewing stand, it makes perfect sense to use the Outin scale too. Everything fits together beautifully.

Claro is a compact, easy-to-use scale. It’s also protected by a waterproof and scratch-resistant case, making it very convenient to bring along on camping trips.

OUTIN CLARO SCALE DISPLAY DETAILS

1. Time/Usage Mode: Press once to start the timer. Press and hold to reset time to 0. Press twice to switch between M1/M2 brewing modes
2. Power On/Off/Tare: Press once to turn on when scale is sleeping or tare when scale is active. Press and hold to put scale back to sleep. Press twice to change measurement units g/oz
3. Brewing Mode: No display means manual mode. M1 is espresso mode. M2 is pour-over mode
4. Measurement Unit Display: g/oz
5. Time: Maximum 9 minutes 59 seconds
6. Weight/Brew Ratio: Displays weight and ratio alternately after brewing with pour-over M2 mode. Example: 1:14.5
7. Battery % indicator
8. Speaker On/Off: Corresponds to volume on and off

3 SPECIALIZED SCALE MODES ON OUTIN CLARO

MANUAL MODE

Touch to start timer, reset weight to 0. Scale automatically turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity to save battery.

ESPRESSO MODE M1

Auto-tares to 0 after placing cup, starts timing when sensor detects espresso flow. Displays weight and final extraction time.

POUR-OVER MODE M2

Pour coffee into dripper and tare to 0, timer starts automatically when you begin pouring. Displays brewing time and water/coffee weight ratio.

AUTOMATIC ESPRESSO BREWING MODE DETAILS ON OUTIN CLARO (M1)

This mode provides the precision needed for brewing coffee with the Outin Nano or any other professional espresso machine.

SELECT M1 MODE

Turn on scale, double press the left touch key to activate M1

PLACE CUP ON SCALE

Scale will automatically tare after 2 seconds if the scale surface is stable

AUTOMATIC SENSOR

Recognizes espresso flow and automatically activates the timer

FINISH

Timer stops automatically when espresso extraction is complete, information remains for 10 seconds.

AUTOMATIC POUR-OVER BREWING MODE DETAILS ON OUTIN CLARO (M2)

This mode is optimized for paper filter coffee brewing methods. Controls both the ratio between coffee grounds and water poured.

Turn on scale, double press left touch key until M2 is activated

PLACE DRIPPER AND CARAFE ON SCALE

Choose your favorite pour-over equipment. Press tare to zero out

MEASURE COFFEE

Pour ground coffee into dripper, screen will display weight

SAVE WEIGHT

Quickly press the time button for scale to save coffee ground weight

START BREWING

Pour hot water, scale automatically starts timer and continuously measures

REMOVE CARAFE FROM SCALE

Timer stops automatically. Screen displays time and actual brew ratio

USAGE NOTES FOR OUTIN CLARO ELECTRONIC SCALE

• Only charge with 5V/1A power, do not use high-wattage chargers over 10W
• Display shows maximum 3 battery bars. When battery is low, battery icon has no bars and blinks as warning
• Use scale with included silicone mat to avoid surface cracking
• Turn off power using the physical side button if not using scale for extended periods
• Avoid water getting in through the bottom of the scale. Wipe scale dry after use
• Do not weigh items over 2kg. This may cause scale sensor deviation
• Do not press down or sit on the scale surface
