9Barista MK.2

In the previous version, the 9Barista was cast entirely from brass and plated with nickel to protect surfaces in contact with water. In terms of both form and function, 9Barista has operated very well until now.

However, brass has relatively soft characteristics. When subjected to strong impacts, 9Barista components can deform, affecting the brewing process. Particularly, boiler pressure stability always requires perfect sealing.

In the MK2 version, 9Barista is cast primarily from Eco Brass alloy, a lead-free brass alloy superior in machinability with hardness equivalent to stainless steel.

Eco Brass is corrosion-resistant and environmentally friendly, can replace standard brass components, and complies with safe drinking water regulations. This material is also used to replace high-pressure stainless steel components like hydraulic parts or hydro pressure valves.

Additionally, other 9Barista components have been upgraded. The silicon heat insulation pad has been upgraded to Steatite ceramic heat-resistant pad, and the boiler gasket thickness has increased by 50%.

The company also added an optional Mk.2 Pro version with 6061 aluminum-wrapped handle and 304 steel shower screen. The portafilter handle is widened with IMS 53mm basket.

6061 aluminum is a high-strength aluminum alloy with good load-bearing capacity, commonly used in mechanical components requiring durability and good machinability.

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that coats the surface with a harder aluminum oxide layer to enhance durability and wear resistance.

Anodized 6061 aluminum material helps enhance durability for the steam outlet tube and handle (on pro version) of the 9Barista Mk.2.
