Many people wonder why, to this day, Bialetti continues to use aluminum as the main material for their coffee makers rather than other metals. iCup would like to share with you the answer through our research on Google:
- In the early 20th century, aluminum was considered the national metal of many countries worldwide with total annual production exceeding 20 million tons. Italy was no exception to this trend – and Bialetti’s creator, Alfonso Bialetti, also chose aluminum as the main metal for the Moka coffee maker. Later, Bialetti diversified its production, but aluminum remained the most used metal.

The fascinating aspect of this claim is they say that coffee residue from previous brews will add flavor to subsequent brews. Therefore, you shouldn’t clean the Moka pot too thoroughly.
