Mischief Lunar Mini Espresso Scale

Mischief Lunar is an electronic scale with a compact design and special modes for espresso machine brewing. High sensitivity and near-instant response to weight changes.

FEATURES OF THE MISCHIEF LUNAR SCALE

• Slim compact design: W10.5 x L10.5 x H1.5cm fits all espresso machine drip trays.
• Flow rate indicator display: An LED bar above the screen allows visualization of real-time espresso extraction speed (From 0.1g/s – 5g/s). However, it doesn’t display actual numbers so it’s somewhat difficult to measure precisely.
• Uses rechargeable lithium-ion battery via Type C port: Each charge provides 25-30 hours of continuous use

MISCHIEF LUNAR SCALE MODES

Mischief Lunar has various modes allowing different levels of automation. Press and hold the left touch power button for 2 seconds to switch between modes.

• Mode 1 | Weighing Mode (weighing only): Screen displays only weight in grams
• Mode 2 | Dual Display Mode: Timer on the left and weight on the right.
• Mode 3 water drop icon | Timer Starts with Flow Mode (Automatic espresso timer): When the scale detects espresso flow, the timer starts. Counter stops automatically when flow stops. (The scale can distinguish and won’t start if this flow is poured from a gooseneck kettle)
• Mode 4 square + water drop icon | Auto-Tare Timer Starts with Flow Mode (Fully automatic espresso): Detects cup weight, automatically tares to 0, and automatically starts/stops timing when espresso flow is detected/ends.
• Mode 5 square triangle icon | Auto-Tare Auto-Start Timer Mode (Auto-tare and auto-time espresso brewing): Place cup on scale and Mischief Lunar will automatically tare to 0 and start timing. Scale stops counting when flow stops.
• Mode 6 | Auto-Tare Mode: Place cup on scale and Lunar will automatically tare to 0. Extract espresso and scale displays weight (Use when espresso machine has auto-timer mode when starting)

WHO IS THE MISCHIEF LUNAR SCALE FOR?

• Those who don’t approve of Mischief’s copying of the design.
• Someone only looking for a scale for pour over filter brewing (Timemore scales would be much more suitable)

NOTES WHEN USING MISCHIEF LUNAR SCALE

• Water resistance for surface spillage is maximum. If washed under running water, the scale will break and won’t be covered by warranty
• Scale has no battery % indicator so you can’t tell when charging is needed. Usage time for one full charge is about 27 continuous hours. If used continuously in a coffee shop, charge once daily; for personal use, charge once a month
• Scale does not have Bluetooth connectivity
• Cannot mute the scale’s sound. Always beeps with each touch.
• Scale doesn’t come with a surface silicone mat, so if drinks are too hot it will affect accuracy. Solution is to find suitable heat-insulating accessories.
• Can recalibrate accuracy in just 1 minute with a 1kg calibration weight. Can do this weekly to ensure consistency throughout use

HOW TO CALIBRATE MISCHIEF LUNAR SCALE ACCURACY

Use only one 1000g calibration weight during calibration:

• Step 1: Press the right touch button (letter T) continuously 10 to 11 times until the screen shows “CAL”
• Step 2: Place the standard 1000g calibration weight on the scale surface and wait until “End” appears and returns to 1000g
• Step 3: Press the power touch button twice to turn off the scale
