RED TITANIUM COATING TECHNOLOGY FEATURES

The DF64 Gen 2.4’s 64mm burrs use Aluminum Titanium Nitride coating technology. This high-hardness coating material is composed of three elements: aluminum, titanium, and nitrogen. This coating is widely used in mechanical machining to coat cutting tools like milling cutters and drill bits, increasing hardness, durability, and wear resistance, especially in high-speed and high-temperature machining applications.

The ultra-thin coating is only 2-3 micrometers thick with a structure that virtually integrates into the burr surface. The benefits achieved by the 64mm Red Titanium burrs include:

• Wear resistance: Particularly beneficial when the grinder frequently grinds coffee at espresso fineness
• Reduced friction: Friction coefficient of only 0.08-0.1 limits heat generation during grinding, preserving coffee flavor
