El Renacer farm is located in the Páez indigenous reserve in Colombia, an area known for its ideal natural conditions for premium coffee varieties like Bourbon, Pink Bourbon, SL28, and Typica.

Eider Ivan Socorreño is the third generation growing coffee at El Renacer farm.
In recent years, the farm has focused on systematically refining their processing methods to create more distinctive and unique flavors.
One of these innovations is the watermelon fermentation process, which has brought a fresh twist to Colombia’s heritage Typica variety.
THE WATERMELON CO-FERMENTATION & WASHED PROCESSING METHOD
Special Lactobacillus & Saccharomyces cerevisiae cultures are cultivated with fresh watermelon and Panela sugar, then fermented with the coffee for 150 hours. During this time, aromatic compounds from the watermelon infuse into the beans, creating their signature flavor. The coffee is then slow-dried under shade for 14 days. Once it reaches the desired moisture level, the beans are packaged and aged for several more months before hitting the market.

Fresh watermelon is fermented with Colombian Typica coffee for 150 hours before drying.
