Due to weather and disease issues, from 2020 through the end of 2023, Kenyan coffee constantly struggled with quality. Fortunately, by the 2024 season, Kenyan coffee quality has returned.
This coffee is grown in the Rift Valley, surrounded by mountain ranges running north-south through Kenya. This area has a temperate climate with temperatures typically not exceeding 28°C. Most rainfall occurs in June and October.
Uklili is one of the sweetest Kenyan coffees iCup has roasted to date!

CHARACTERISTICS OF ICUP’S ROASTED KENYA RIFT VALLEY UKLILI COFFEE
- Roast level: Light
- Best suited for Pour over, Cold brew
- Start using after approximately: 15 – 20 days from roast date (Lightly roasted Kenya beans are quite hard and need more degassing time compared to other coffees)
- Best enjoyed within: 3 months unopened and 1 month after first opening. If not using immediately, can store in freezer (Frozen coffee can last up to 1 year while staying fresh—When removing, you can grind immediately without waiting to thaw)
- Recommend opening the coffee bag one day before use to release gases and pressure from the package, then resealing so the coffee aroma is more fragrant and the flavor more rounded
- Storage: ZIP bag WITHOUT one-way valve
- Whole bean coffee. If grinding is needed, please inform iCup about your brewing equipment so we can select the appropriate grind size. We encourage customers to own a coffee grinder to grind fresh for each use
