Gummay Woreda is a small town in the Limu region of Ethiopia. Coffee has been produced here for many generations.
Around 2019, some areas in Gummay began focusing on upgrading their coffee with the Gesha variety. By late 2022, a few small batches of Gesha coffee were harvested experimentally with very surprising results.
They introduced these processed batches to customers in 2023. This is also the only year you can try this coffee!

Though only 3-4 years old, through strict control of fermentation time and processing water quality, Baby Gesha coffee beans display aromas and flavors like “SUGAR LEMON” candy. It’s an unforgettable finish with ripe juicy lemon notes, prominent mango flavor, floral pollen aromas, and a sweet aftertaste.

NOTES ON ROASTED ETHIOPIA BABY GESHA COFFEE
- Roast level: Light+
- Best suited for paper filter brewing (Drip/Pour over)
- Start using after approximately: 10-15 days from roast date because lightly roasted Baby Gesha needs a longer degassing period
- Best enjoyed within: Up to 3 months unopened and 1 month after first opening. If not using immediately, can store in freezer (Frozen coffee can last up to 1 year while staying fresh—When removing, you can grind immediately without waiting to thaw)
- Recommend opening the coffee bag one day before use to release gases and pressure from the package, then resealing so the coffee aroma is more fragrant and the flavor more rounded
- Storage: ZIP bag WITHOUT one-way valve
- Whole bean coffee. If grinding is needed, please inform iCup about your brewing equipment so we can select the appropriate grind size. We encourage customers to own a coffee grinder to grind fresh for each use
