HOW TO CHANGE AUTOMATIC BREW VOLUME ON BREVILLE BES870BSS

Increasing or decreasing extraction volume according to user preference is a must-have on semi-automatic espresso machines. Each type of coffee and different grind size will suit different extraction ratios.

To change, attach the portafilter with coffee in the filter basket. Press the PROGRAM button and select the corresponding brew profile (1 cup or 2 cup). When reaching the desired volume, press the selected brew button again. The machine will beep twice to confirm this change.

HOW TO CHANGE WATER TEMPERATURE ON BREVILLE BES870BSS ESPRESSO MACHINE

The factory default temperature is 93°C, quite optimal for medium roast coffee beans. To change the temperature, turn off the machine, then hold the PROGRAM button and press the POWER button to enter settings mode.

• Press PROGRAM button to set to default temperature of 93°C
• Press 1 cup button to increase by 1°C, 2 cup button to increase by 2°C
• Press FILTER button to decrease by 1°C or POWER button to decrease by 2°C
• Wait for two beeps to confirm the change and exit settings mode

• The machine only needs 30 seconds to enter ready mode, however the portafilter cannot heat up as quickly, so it will need to be attached to the group head for about 10 minutes to stabilize. If you want it faster, flush hot water through the portafilter so you can brew immediately without waiting.
• The machine has automatic cooling flush mode, so after steaming milk just wait 15 seconds to continue brewing coffee normally.
• The diameter of the machine’s filter basket and tamper is 54mm. If users need to upgrade, they must choose accessories of similar size.
• There are 2 grinding modes when placing the portafilter in the holder: Press once for automatic dose grinding and press and hold to select manual amount.
• The machine’s bean hopper holds a maximum of about 250g, however only pour about 100g at a time to prevent coffee flavor from being affected by oxidation.
