Gesha is grown on the southern foothills of Mount Kenya in the agricultural district of Kirinyaga. This area is famous for its small coffee farms and snow-capped mountain peaks in winter.
Kirinyaga is the Kikuyu name for Mount Kenya and means “white mountain” or “bright mountain.” Local Kikuyu people believe this mountain is sacred because their god Mwene Nyaga lives there.
If that’s true, then Kenya Gesha coffee is also blessed by the gods, isn’t it?
