Uraga is part of the Guji zone in southwestern Ethiopia’s Oromia region, bordering Ode Shakiso woreda to the southeast and Yirgacheffe to the west.
Sitting at approximately 2,200 meters above sea level, the Uraga area enjoys a cool year-round climate, consistent rainfall, and fertile soil. These are the key factors that allow coffee to develop slowly, accumulate natural sugars, and build a complex flavor structure.
hrough years of processing experimentation in particular, Guji has established a reputation as a hub for small, high-quality lots — highly regarded by roasters worldwide for their cleanliness, sweetness, and well-defined flavor structure.
ABOUT THE ARABICA 74110 VARIETY
The 74110 variety is one of the varieties developed by the Jimma Agricultural Research Center (JARC). It was selected from wild coffee trees in the Metu-Bishari forests of the Iluababora area in Oromia and officially introduced in 1979.
The 74110 tree is short with a compact canopy, making it easy for farmers to manage and care for. Its small leaves allow for efficient photosynthesis, supporting strong and healthy growth.

The Arabica 74110’s low stature makes it easy for farmers to manage and tend.
The 74110 variety is known for its distinct floral aroma, lively acidity, and fresh flavor character. The overall structure is well-balanced, achieving a pleasing harmony between sweetness and acidity.
When cultivated above 2,200 meters, this variety expresses a pronounced juiciness, thick sweetness, and a long finish — the very qualities that make high-quality Ethiopian coffee so compelling.
ABOUT THE STRAWBERRY CO-FERMENTATION PROCESSING METHOD
After harvesting, the coffee is sorted using a flotation method. Manual selection follows to remove any discolored or over-ripe cherries.
The cherries are then fermented in sealed plastic tanks together with fresh strawberry juice for 5 days. This co-fermentation method enhances sweetness, highlights red fruit nuances, and adds flavor depth — while still preserving a clean and well-defined structure.
Once fermentation is complete, the coffee is dried on raised beds until it reaches a moisture level of 10.5–11%.
